Boyfriend jeans are everywhere lately and I couldn't be more excited to give my skinnies a break. Since they're looser, they're much cooler (and more practical) for the on-coming summer heat. Styling boyfriend jeans, or in this case, ex-boyfriend crop pants can be tricky. It's all about playing with proportions and finding some balance with this more masculine fit.

For this look, I balanced the looser bottoms with a more fitted top and the illusion of a taller silhouette (thanks to my trusty heels). The baggy fit of the pants and oversized blazer lend for casual ease and called for some polish. That's where the chain linked necklace, structured bag and strappy heels come into play.

The bright color of this Stella Rittwagen bag livens up any outfit, especially these khaki pants. For a girly spin, I tucked the shoulder strap inside to convert the bag into an oversized clutch. I got this piece at Flow boutique in Madrid and throw it over my shoulder whenever I'm feeling nostalgic for Spain.

A stiletto sandal with thinner straps would REALLY have made the look daintier and overall more chic. Had I been going to brunch instead of a stomping around town with friends, that's what would have gone down. Next time I wear these pants, I'll make sure that the brunch scenario is the one that pans out!

  2. I love this look on you! I can't wear baggy pants since my legs are short and they wouldn't look good on me. Different story on you, though :)

    1. Abby girl, I bet you could rock 'em if you did some crafty work with the proportions - like roll up the hem or get a cropped pair to show off your ankles and throw in some sky high heels. You know those pointed pumps give you mile long legs. A top bun or funky hair knot might also add some height and create a longer silhouette. <3
