"Something old, something new, something borrowed and something blue..." Today's post is all about revamping a vintage dress for wedding season.

I was recently sent the above photo from reader Eva D. from Madrid, Spain. She was gifted this vintage maxi dress from her aunt and plans to wear it at an upcoming wedding

She asked for some style recommendations, and I immediately went to work.

I think that the dress' high neckline would look best with an up-do and some statement earrings. To balance out the earrings, I would also add a few fun bangles or some rings. If neither bracelets nor rings are your cup of tea, I suggest a fun colored manicure and a bold clutch.

Here are some ideas:

I've seen a lot of coral around this season. I like that the color is in between the orange and pink tones in the dress' skirt. Not only is coral in harmony with the two colors, but it's also a little softer and more romantic than the orange. I recommend a smokey eye to make her eyes pop.

Wearing red lipstick automatically makes me feel more dressed up and glam, which is why I've centered this look around a red pout. I've chosen gold accents to warm up the black and add some sparkle.

Wedding ceremonies tend to be formal events, and what's more sophisticated than black? I think that the black accents make the dress look more elegant. A cropped black blazer makes this sleeveless dress appropriate for church and makes it look oh-so-chic! The metallic clutch breaks up the outfit without stealing the show.

I also propose trying a belt to show off (or create) a small waist. I've mixed in some neutral leather accessories with touches of blue. A fashion turban with gently waved hair turns this vintage dress into a modern and effortlessly cool look.

Eva, I hope that these looks can help inspire some styling ideas. Please let us know how you end up wearing the dress!
