My feet take a constant beating: extreme heat and cold, super high heels and too few pedicures. To counteract all that foot abuse, I've decided to give myself some DIY TLC.

I came across a pin on Pinterest recently that boasted the benefits of apple cider vinegar and I wanted to test whether or not it was true. The post said that vinegar can help remedy fungus, foot odor, athlete's foot and dryness.

1. I started off by placing a towel on the floor underneath a plastic tub that I filled with apple cider vinegar.

2. I soaked my feet for approximately 45 minutes.

3. I sloughed off dry skin from my heels and toes with a pumice stone (a cheap pumice stone ended up working better than the PediSpin).

4. I rinsed off the dead skin and vinegar with warm water and towel dried my feet.

5. I put on a generous layer of petroleum jelly and then put on thick socks.

  1. I love seeing all the old day remedies coming back! As a child, my Mama would put a vinegar water rinse in my hair, after washing. She also used Castile soap flakes to make a jar of Castile liquid so you could use it to wash your hair, and for many other things!! All of these things were Pure, had no added chemicals or anything harmful! I think we all kind of need to get back to those things again. No need for all the additives and scents in all of our shampoos and body care products, because, "Clean" smells Great!!!
Thank You for posting these useful articles about what "Really Natural, Old Time" products can do for everyone's health!!

Amazing, isn't it???!! Nature helps us heal ourselves!!!

    1. I'm so glad that you enjoyed the post! I totally agree. As much as I love some of the pretty scents, simpler products go a long way! :)

  3. You can always add a drop or two of natural essential oil for the pretty scent.

    1. Do you dilute the ACV?

    2. Yes, adding an essential oil will help with the vinegar smell. I put a little less than equal parts water.
