Although they were
EVERYWHERE this summer, my guess is that they were not in EVERYONE’S closet.
And that was probably the case because, let’s be honest, it takes a
self-assured person to bare his or her midriff in public. If you are modest
about exposing that part of your body, there are a few different ways to wear
cropped tops without having to show all of that skin.
Depending on your
geographic location, showing skin in the winter is not even an option. It
usually tends to be the season for more layers, not less material.
Let’s start with this
cropped sweater from H&M, for example.

You can stay cozy and
warm by pairing it with high-waisted trousers or jeans and then adding accessories
that best reflect your personality.
If high-waisted pants
are not your cup of tea, there is always the option to layer a cropped sweater
over a shirt, tank or tee. I tend to opt for collared shirts or blouses because I like
the extra pop of color or print around the neck. Mixing prints is an effortless
way to look cool, so feel free to experiment with different combinations!
And lastly, you can wear
that belly top or cropped sweater with a skirt that sits a little higher on
your waist. Pencil skirts and maxi skirts are both great options, but I chose
this high-waisted flared skirt with black tights.
