We Midwesterners know a thing or two about plaid. To give a soft and glam spin to this laid-back print, I chose the top in a flowy and sheer material. If I weren't so busty, I would be open to ditching the tank layer. It's my opinion that if you're anything over a B-cup, you risk looking a bit vulgar exposing your brassiere under sheer tops.

When I think glam, I think curve hugging and ultra femme. What's more feminine than a fitted flare skirt? It shows off a woman's waist, snugly hugs her hips and flares out to a coquettish hemline. It's fun to mix and match this type of a skirt with crop tops, blouses, chunky knits and oversized tops.

Heels add instant glam to any outfit. These strappy heeled sandals from Elie Tahari have a fun color-block that worked well with the blue stripes in the plaid top.

I found this necklace while rummaging through Nordstrom Rack clearance bins in New York. I loved the Western vibe with the pretty stone detailing. The necklace was actually the inspiration for this look: equal parts country and glam.

No glam look is complete without a clutch. This Kate Spade black straw clutch is one of my go-to's for the summer. It's light-weight, roomy and easy to mix into different outfits. The classic black color additionally draws out the black from the heels and ties the whole look together.

An outfit like this is a fun look to consider for a blind date or Happy Hour drinks. It's flirty and not overly done up, which makes the wearer simultaneously sexy and approachable.
