Baby it's cold outside...cold AND snowy, only to be followed up by sub-zero temperatures. Here in the Chicagoland area, the snow is interfering with our Sunday funday outings. If sleeping in is your ideal way to spend your day, then by all means proceed.

I on the other hand have a few New Years resolutions to tackle, one of which being to get my body moving. I love to reap the rewards of exercise, but I'm not the most consistent gym-goer. To kickstart a healthier 2014, I've decided to give my local Bikram Yoga studio a go.

Have you tried Bikram Yoga yet? I had my first experience in Madrid, Spain and I absolutely loved it, but I'll admit that the 90 minute classes are intense. Bikram yoga consists of the same 26 postures and two breathing exercises in a room or studio that is heated to approximately 105°F (≈40°C-41°C).

While living in Madrid, I tried out three different centers: Bikram Yoga España (on Calle Divino Pastor), Bikram Yoga Spain Studio (on Calle Maldonado) and Bikram Yoga Center (on Calle Barquillo).

My favorite was the Bikram Yoga Center (with Bikram Yoga Spain Studio coming in at a close second place); it's clean, it has a large studio space, lockers, complimentary towel & mat service, various individual showers and a friendly staff.

Before committing to any memberships, I advise signing up for the trial offers.
