I recently got an up close look at Aveda's™ The Art and Science of Pure Flower and Plant Essences Spring/Summer 2015 makeup collection while visiting the Oakbrook Shopping Center. The Rare Bloom collection is meant to create a palette of magnetic beauty by attracting contradictory colors, like copper and ivory shades. The more classical shades of indigo sky, blooming pinks, and plumeria add impossible-to-miss definition and complexity.

Impossible to miss and complex? That sounds like us, right ladies?

“These opposing color forces allow looks that create subtleness, accented by strength—resulting in magnetically beautiful looks,” says Janell Geason, Global Artistic Director of Makeup.

When I spoke to Janell about the collection, she said that the inspiration of the color palette came from the very same scenes of nature that can be found in her very own Minneapolis backyard.

Don't know Aveda? They're known for combining the principles of modern science and Ayurveda, the ancient healing art of India. Aveda's hair, skin and body products are made with pure flower and plant essences, that are created with respect for the Earth and ritual-based treatments for holistic beauty.
