On my second day in New York, I decided to go for a nice long walk to take in the sights. Since it was too warm for thick tights, yet too cool for sandals, I opted for heeled booties with textured socks. And thank goodness I did; that compromise kept me cooler during the day and warmer after the sun set. These burgundy, excuse me, oxblood booties and knee highs added a pop of color to my chevron print sweater dress and a hint of autumn richness.
I suggest completing the look by accessorizing with a cool vest, military jacket or statement necklace.
