week’s songs kept me company in the long hours of preparing Fashionlingual for
its launch.

Why did I choose these
songs?
I thought “American girl” was a fitting tune to introduce myself to
readers as an American gal despite writing from the land of Iberian ham and
home to fashion greats such as Cristobal Balenciaga, Manolo Blahnik and Amancio Ortega (i.e. Inditex, i.e. Zara).
All girls have some diva in them and I hope my readers channel Beyonce’s
confidence through “Diva.”
I have a total girl crush on Lana Del Rey and needed to
include a girly theme song for all the ladies out there. (Oh heeey!)
Russian Red is the
stage name of one of my favorite Spanish indie and folk singer-songwriters, Lourdes
Hernández, and I wanted to share her with all of you.
